FIRST TIME SHOOTER INFORMATION

TBSC’s number one priority is providing a safe & fun family environment for everyone, please be sure to read our rules prior to showing up.

WHAT TO EXPECT

When you first arrive at Tampa Bay Sporting Clays you will need to check in at the Clubhouse. There are plenty of visual signs to point you in the right direction. Once you have entered our clubhouse, our friendly staff will walk you through the waiver signing process where shooters will have to present their ID, read and sign our waiver of liability and be issued the clay counter key. You can also purchase ammunition, rent shotguns and golf carts in the office when you check in.

REQUIRED SAFETY TRAINING BRIEFING

All first timers are required to meet at the training station and attend a briefing with our range officer or staff member. This is not a shooting lesson, this is a safety overview. This briefing is $5 per first timer.

EAR & EYE PROTECTION

Whether shooting or spectating ear and eye protection is required the entire time, be sure to bring your sunglasses from home so you don’t have to purchase our extremely fashionable $5 pair!

EQUIPMENT RENTALS

All TBSC shooters are allowed to bring their own shotguns to use as long as they meet our requirements presented on our rules page, but we also have guns that are available for rent as well. Tampa Bay Sporting Clays is a shotgun range only, handguns and rifles are not permitted anywhere on our premises. Shotgun shells 7.5, 8, 9 Shot is all we permit. Do not bring incorrect ammo to our course, we will confiscate.

If you plan to bring your shotgun from home please view our shotgun requirements and be sure your shotgun is not loaded while transporting to our range and entering our office.

If you are planning on renting a gun, you must have a valid US ID and fill out gun rental agreement liability form. If you are in need of ammunition, we have that available for you as well!

GOLF CART RENTALS

Golf carts are available to rent along with guns that hold up to 4 people (NO MORE THAN 4). Keep in mind that each course is about a mile loop, but if you want to enjoy the scenic walk just make sure to plan ahead and bring a bag/backpack for your supplies such as ammunition.

SHOOTING LESSONS

If you wish to have a full lesson and safety course they can arrange that with the instructor direct, $75 an hour. Must be arranged prior to when you arrive at Tampa Bay Sporting Clays. For more information about full lessons, visit our private instruction page.

TAMPA BAY SPORTING CLAY RULES
