Tampa Bay Sporting Clays Shooting Rules

Our rules are designed to ensure the safety of everyone at Tampa Bay Sporting Clays. We want everyone to have fun and feel safe while doing so. Before you visit TBSC, make sure you note each of the rules below. Anyone who breaks these rules will be asked to leave immediately. If our staff or safety team feel any group or individual is not following rules or safety precautions, behaving in a manner that could be detrimental to our safety operations you will be asked to leave.

  • Waiver must be filled out by each shooter/spectator

  • Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a Parent or Legal Guardian. We do not allow anyone under 25 to bring underage “guests”

  • Ear and eye protection must be worn at all times by every individual, this includes spectators

  • Valid U.S Identification is REQUIRED for all gun rentals, gun liability form must be submitted

  • You must be 21 or older to rent a firearm and legally permitted to be in possession of a firearm. It is illegal in the state of Florida for any convited felon to be in possess a firearm.

  • We do not rent firearms if rain is present

  • All shooters must be legally able to own, be in procession of and/or operate a firearm defined be federal & state laws

  • Shotguns are carried pointed up and Breaches must be open during all transport until in shooting cage

  • No loading outside of shooting cage (this includes by golf carts or behind other shooters) Loading happens down range in shooting cage

  • Never exit shooting cage with a loaded gun

  • Guns are to be pointed downrange only

  • Fingers are kept off trigger until target is called

  • Do not walk in front of shooting cage or stray from designated trails

  • Shots are to be fired only at our moving clay targets (not at our signs, trees, machines, or any other object)

  • Do not touch clay trap machines

  • If a trap is broken please contact the office, do not attempt to fix machine and/or walk in front of the shooting cage

  • Shooting is only allowed from designated shooting cage

  • Only one shooter permitted in the shooting cage at a time

  • Only load two shells maximum at a time

  • No shell length longer than 2 3/4 inch allowed

  • No shot size larger than 7.5 allowed *We allow 7.5, 8 & 9 Shot ONLY any illegal ammo being used will be confiscated

  • No slugs allowed

  • No tactical shot guns of any kind permitted

  • No extension magazines, extended tube or pistol grip shotguns

  • 24-inch barrel length minimum required on regular shotguns

  • No alcohol or drug use are permitted at any time on the course or prior to shooting. 

  • Help keep the stations clean and free of debris, discarding your trash and hulls into the trash bin at each station

 TRAINING AND SAFETY

When you come out to shoot, you'll sign our liability waiver. If you want to be prepared and get started right away, download, print, and sign. Next, make sure you're up to date on our training and safety videos.
